In this article, you will learn how to clone a Guided Flow. Please go through our article about Flows before proceeding.
Why Clone a Flow?
Cloning duplicates the existing flow without making any changes to the source flow. You might want to reuse an existing flow with a few changes, this is what you can do: Clone, Update Cloned Flow, Test & Publish. In case you want to make changes to any published flow, it is always recommended to create a clone - avoid making changes to the live flow so the integrations are not impacted.
A duplicated Flow contains:
- All Activities of the original Flow
- Same Logic and Data Mapping from the original Flow
How to clone a Flow?
Step 1: First, you can select the Flow to be cloned from the list of already created Guided Flows
When you hover over any Flow, you will see a menu at the top right corner. Click on the highlighted kebab menu.
Step 2: Next, select the Clone option from the menu.
Click on Clone, to open the Clone Flow popup.
As seen above, you will be prompted to confirm this cloning operation. Click on 'Yes.'
Next, you will see a message confirming the successful cloning of the Flow. You will also see the cloned Flow with the same name as the original Flow and an appended number. As an example, we cloned a Flow named MailChimp contacts. The new Flow is automatically named MailChimp contacts 549, as shown above.
Open the cloned Flow by clicking on it. It will be the exact replica of the source. However, the steps are not tested. You can add your changes, test it out & publish the flow.
